By a Registered Ear Care Specialist
Say goodbye to blocked ears and hello to balance, clarity, and comfort—right here at Ocean Pearl Beauty. I offer safe and professional ear wax removal using microsuction, irrigation, or a combination of both, depending on what’s most suitable for your ears.
What Happens During Your Appointment
Appointments last 30 minutes and include:
- A full consultation and ear health assessment using a high-definition otoscope and camera
- A personalised treatment plan based on the type, amount, and condition of any wax present
- Wax removal using microsuction, irrigation, or both if appropriate
Both ears will be treated if necessary, or if irrigation has been used on one—this ensures balanced pressure and comfort.
If your ear wax is too hard or compacted, I may advise you to soften it at home using olive oil drops or spray for up to 7 days. This helps make your treatment safer and more comfortable when you return.
No Wax? No Problem!
If you book a full appointment and no wax is present, you’ll only be charged the consultation fee. You’ll still get peace of mind and insight into your ear health—especially helpful if you’ve been experiencing symptoms.
Registered & Insured
This service is provided by a fully trained and insured ear wax removal specialist.
I am proudly registered with UK Microsuction and trained in both microsuction and ear irrigation techniques.
Common Symptoms of Ear Wax Build-up:
- Feeling of fullness or pressure in the ears
- Muffled hearing
- Itching or discomfort
- Dizziness or imbalance
- Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
Did You Know?
Ear wax (cerumen) is actually protective! It traps dust, debris, and bacteria, keeping your ears clean and healthy. But too much of a good thing? Not so helpful.
Using cotton buds can make things worse. They often push wax deeper into the canal, compacting it—and that’s when blockages, muffled hearing, or even dizziness can start.
Microsuction is the gold standard in ear wax removal. It’s safe, gentle, and doesn’t involve putting anything wet in the ear—making it ideal for those prone to infections or with perforated eardrums.
Symptoms of a wax build-up aren’t always obvious. You might just feel off-balance, have itchy ears, or hear a bit like you’re underwater. Sound familiar?
Getting your ears checked regularly is just like seeing the hygienist for your teeth—it’s part of feeling clear, balanced, and well.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know if I have a wax build-up?
A: Common signs include muffled hearing, a feeling of fullness or pressure in the ears, itchiness, dizziness, or ringing (tinnitus). Some clients even say it feels like they’re hearing through a fish tank!
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Not at all. The treatment is safe and comfortable. You may feel some mild pressure or hear a gentle suction sound during microsuction, but there’s no pain. I’ll talk you through each step so you always feel at ease.
Q: What if there’s no wax in my ears?
A: If no wax is present or treatment isn’t needed on the day, you’ll only be charged the consultation fee. You’ll still benefit from a full ear health check and peace of mind.
Q: Do I need to do anything before my appointment?
A: If you’ve not had wax removed before or suspect it may be quite hard, using olive oil drops or spray (like Earol) for a few days before your appointment can help soften the wax. If needed, I’ll guide you through this at your consultation.
Q: Can both ears be treated in one session?
A: Yes—both ears will be treated during your appointment if needed, or if irrigation has been used on one ear, to keep everything feeling balanced and comfortable.
Q: Who carries out the treatment?
A: All treatments are carried out by me—a fully trained and insured specialist, registered with UK Microsuction and qualified in both microsuction and irrigation methods.
Q: Is this suitable for children?
A: At the moment, ear wax removal is available for adults only (18+). If you have concerns about a child’s hearing or ear health, I always recommend speaking to your GP or audiologist first.
